The Scoop:

Responsible for the development and administration of BI tools. Transform raw data into meaningful insights. This is accomplished through interactive and user-friendly dashboards and reports.

The Power BI Developer is responsible for the design and development of Power BI solutions based on business requirements. Working closely with the business to gather requirements and translate into a viable solution to solve complex business challenges. The SQL / Power BI Developer will understand various database technology platforms and data relationships to develop robust reporting and analytic services. In addition, the role will adhere to and serve as a reporting resource for the organization. The Power BI Developer will also be responsible for the development and administration of BI tool. What You Get To Do:

· This role will first start working with data warehouse and ETL solutions currently residing in on-premises systems. The Data Engineer will work closely with DBA and Software Engineering teams to understand and enhance existing ETL solutions. Also, working closely with Data Analysis team to support data analysis efforts by enhancing and supporting existing data pipelines, stored procedures, and automated reports.

· This position will be instrumental and serve as the key technical expert for migrating existing systems to the cloud as well as designing new solutions in Azure.

· Interprets and executes data project requests. Presents report data in Power BI in a meaningful way, accessible and clear for individuals at all levels of understanding

· Develops queries, functions, stored procedures, and views to support reporting and data extraction, utilizing standards and best practices to ensure data accuracy and security

· Significant experience developing reports and dashboards using Power BI and up to date with the current version of Power BI and its capabilities

· Experience with various database platforms and cloud technology including Azure and Snowflake

· Appropriate use of visualizations with understanding how to balance the right visuals and report complexity for the data being presented to each end-user group

· Participates in team-based problem solving and multidisciplinary team use of various data-driven process improvement techniques

· Develops best practice procedures for end users to facilitate the use of reporting tools and applications

· Practices good software engineering techniques and standards to reduce coding errors and ensures robustness and efficiency of work products

· Adopts new techniques and technologies

· Assists with mentoring and training of less experienced IT staff members

Education and/or Experience

· For consideration candidates will need a BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required

· Proficient (5+ years) in Developing Power BI solutions, reports, and dashboards

· Expertise in using advance level calculations on the data set. Experience working on Power BI reports with large volumes of data. Knowledge of how to connect Power BI to various data sources (on-p rem, cloud) and transform data

· Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical users to provide business solutions

· Ability to function independently and manage multiple projects

· Self-motivated and attention to detail. SDLC and Agile methodologies

Computer Skills

· Advanced proficiency with ETL Framework, SQL, and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) for the generation and extraction of data for use in analytics and reporting

· Advanced proficiency of Azure ETL and Data Warehouse tools

· Good knowledge of Data Modeling and Dimensional Modeling

· Proficient in creating complex DAX queries in Power BI Desktop & Report Builder

· Strong knowledge of Power BI Report Builder tool

· Strong knowledge of Power BI service

· Fluent with CI/CD process

· Fluent with .NET Framework

· Ensure code quality with Test Driven Development/ unit testing

Familiarity with the following is desirable

· Real-time data streaming experience

· Proficiency in Python programming language

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Microsoft Power BI Certification is highly desirable

Other Skills and Abilities

· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on project teams and/or matrix-managed teams

· Excellent written and verbal communications skills with emphasis on translating technical concepts to non-technical audiences

· Results oriented and ability to juggle multiple concurrent projects with changing priorities and deadlines

Travel

This position may require limited travel and attendance maybe required at various local conferences and meetings.
