Our team's mission is to build a world-class data platform that powers our products and analytics. The Data Platform team ensures internal teams can easily collect, store, process and utilise data to build reports or products aiming to solve business problems. Our focus is on maximising the amount of time internal teams spend on solving business problems and minimising time spent on technical details around implementation, deployment, and monitoring of their solutions. We're building for scale. As such, much of what we design and implement today will be the technology/infrastructure which will serve hundreds of teams and petabyte-level volumes of data. Key Responsibilities Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and design solutions that meet their requirements Optimise our data stack for performance, scalability, cost-effectiveness and observability Implement all the necessary infrastructure to enable end users to build, host, monitor and deploy their own data processing solutions Increase governance and trust of our datasets through the implementation and adoption of our schema registry (AWS Glue), data cataloguing (DataHub) and data discovery solutions Apply data security and governance strategies in batch and streaming environments (schema registry/management implementation and adoption, encryption, ACL's, GDPR/PCI compliance) whilst still enabling end users to solve their engineering and business problems Solve end-to-end data problems at scale Qualifications Strong engineering background with an interest in data. Creative problem solver with good attention to detail. You think about the end-user when designing and building systems. Experience working with SQL and Python. Experience working with (cloud) data warehouses, preferably Snowflake. Experience describing infrastructure as code using Terraform or similar. Experience using, designing, and implementing CI/CD pipelines. You will be working with Monte Carlo, DataHub, AWS, Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, SQL and Looker The topics / technologies below would be a nice to have Familiarity with Looker Familiarity/interest in Data Governance Engineering Experience designing and implementing access controls governing accesses to data in a Data Warehouse Familiarity with Stream Processing (Kafka or Kinesis) Familiarity working with Docker and container deployment Familiarity working with workflow management solutions, preferably Airflow. Familiarity working with dbt (or similar SQL pipeline solution like dataform).
