Undergraduate Educational Data Analyst

Job description


The MB ChB and BDS Programmes are seeking to develop capacity to execute its role in student experience, student performance, compliance with external accreditation bodies and the successful delivery of their Programmes. A key element of this is data analysis and management information provision to support educational analytics. The post holder will work with the Division of Medical Education and the Division of Dentistry, and be based in the Technology Enhanced Learning in Medicine (TELiM) Team, in the School of Medical Sciences, Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health.

Overall Purpose of the Job

The management and analysis of educational data is essential in order to inform and improve educational teaching and learning delivery and assessment processes, support the curriculum and control the progression of students to graduation and foundation training to positively impact on Student Experience.

The successful candidate must have strong IT skills (in particular MS Excel and databases) and attention to detail in order to analyse and manage complex data, and have a professional and cooperative attitude to be able to work effectively across teams. This role would be suited to a candidate who is eager to learn, flexible and able to adapt to changes.

In addition to having a Degree (or relevant qualification), you will be expected to have experience in information management; with proven ability to analyse and interpret data and to produce statistical reports using a range of media. Working closely with UG Medicine, Dentistry Educational Delivery and Assessment Teams, you will be contributing to the review/redesign of the analytics data store.
