Assistant Data Analyst, Syndicated Data Governance

Position Location: Atlanta, GA


Job Summary:
The Assistant Data Analyst provides primary support to the Manager of Syndicated Data Governance. They are responsible for managing database integrity for multiple categories across multiple data vendors. They will collaborate cross-functionally with Division Analytics, Brand Marketing and Sales to maintain multiple databases. They will manage the delivery of all database related projects including newsletters, database auditing, data analytics and new item coding/reviews. This role is essential to the organization because executive reporting and data analysis across divisions relies on database integrity managed by this role.

Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and computer skills with a four year college degree
  • 2-3 years work experience preferably in consulting, analytics or category management
  • Must have experience working directly with Nielsen, IRI or NPD data and systems
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytic and quantitative abilities, problem solving skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills and written/verbal communication
  • Demonstrated planning, leadership, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Strong desire to learn and continuously improve by creating new and more efficient ways of working
  • Ability to work independently and proactively with relentless adherence to deadlines
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize accordingly in a fast-paced environment


Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage database maintenance, including auditing, category dictionary and implementation
    • Responsible for project management to ensure flawless and timely delivery of all database related projects
  • Coordinate and schedule monthly new item reviews (NIR)
    • Review all new items and correct placement where needed
    • Train, coach and guide cross functional partners who participate in the NIR process
    • Create rules for item placement to increase NIR process efficiency
  • Effectively communicate key database changes and updates through monthly newsletters
  • Proactively audit databases for accuracy across hierarchy structure, custom attributes and down to the item level
  • Become the category expert for assigned categories and be the primary resource for answering database related questions from groups across the organization
  • Manage the coordination of training around data systems and interpreting data measures
    • Lead coaching and training sessions for data tools and data interpretation
  • Establish and maintain effective work relationship with all vendors and cross functional partners
    • Maintain a collaborative team environment
    • Manage multiple requests across several vendors
    • Lead effective problem solving
  • Looks for opportunities to increase efficiency within databases to improve data quality
    • Suggest creative techniques, tools, and processes to improve all aspects
    • Manage budget and financial relationships with data vendors
      • Validate and organize bought-data contracts
      • Create purchase orders, phase invoices, and maintain budget forecasts
