The RAC Marketing & Innovation Team are recruiting for an Insight Data Scientist to join them on a permanent basis to be based in Bristol. The team are currently working from home until the COVID situation subsides, however going forward there will be flexibility to work from home twice per week.
As an Insight Data Scientist, you will be responsible for delivering insight to support our Insurance Partner priorities whilst building statistical models, propensity to buy, machine learning, segmentation and econometric time series models all with lifetime value using appropriate tools to help support the business make important decisions. The successful candidate can expect to create optimisation models to help us grow the RAC to its fullest potential and to do this will require compelling business cases for investment and change, which will be backed up by your sound analytics.

Provide insight that helps define and deliver the strategic priorities and implement the strategic plan.
Data and insight used to optimise customer & business outcomes (Win Win).
Data and insight to derive loss ratio models and understanding of profitability.
Ensure the value of data is maximised internally and used compliantly. Resulting in data usage within the guideline of regulation and the business is able to make decisions based on data.
The ideal candidate for this will have 3-5 years’ experience within a Data Scientist role and have current practical knowledge of how to use the latest analytical thinking within a commercial environment and have the knowledge of the best tools for the job, experience in R and/or PYTHON and SQL is essential. This will suit someone who is a strategic thinker and can action and collate into deliverable plans back to the business. You will have experience using data and insight to constructively challenge the status-quo and organisational myths and develop analytics to support with improvement going forward. Previous experience in a data science role will mean you can translate complete analysis and data into a simple story that is understandable, compelling, and digestible for all audience at different levels across the business. The successful candidate will be supporting the Insurance Partners, so we are ideally looking for someone who understands pricing and analysis techniques. Degree qualified in mathematics or another numeric subject would be preferred.
