Position Summary:
Liberty Source PBC is seeking a strong Data Analyst for the Corporate Bonds team with the ability to learn and understand financial terms and documents. This position will conduct research and identify critical financial data, as well as monitoring and maintaining corporate bond databases and issuance of active securities. Product knowledge and skill set training will be provided. This is an entry level position and we are willing to teach and develop candidates who exhibit an ability to learn and grow.
Position Responsibilities (include but not limited to the following):
- Apply business rules, instructions, and training materials for the extraction, publishing, maintenance, and quality assurance of specific data fields and event types for corporate, government and preferred securities on the client systems.
- Utilize client’s workflow applications to research, update, and maintain critical financial data and run reports used to determine update needs;
- Liaise with team members of the corporate bond team to distribute new work-items that need to be prioritized.
- Ensure quality and time to market when receiving deals from Lead Managers and Issuers for processing
- Calculate and update coupon rates for floating rate bonds based on an underlying index as reported.
- Communication with third party providers via email will be required in order to validate and confirm corporate bond data.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Desire/Interest in working in Finance, Economics or Business. Degree or focused studies in these or related field preferred not required
- Intelligence and Aptitude for understanding and managing a multitude of financial processes simultaneously
- Process-oriented, with focus on effectiveness and efficiency; highly organized; strong attention to detail and thoroughness - must exercise critical thinking mentality.
- Strong work ethic with adaptability to change
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency in a fast paced, team environment, demonstrating efficiency while able to multi-task
- Self-starter with high degree of initiative; dedicated to quality and continuous improvement
- Detail-oriented and skilled in the usage of research tools and reference materials
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Comfortable in performing complex math calculations
- Experience in Customer Service or Client interactions
- Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills
