You will join our Environment & Health Digitalisation team


Digitalisation is a core component of our business strategy and you will join a team on the front line of transforming how we work and deliver value to clients. As our new Graduate Data Scientist, you will join our Environment & Health Digitalisation team. This team utilises digital technology to provide insights that support the work of our consulting teams. This role and will provide specialist consultancy to a diverse range of sustainability projects. This includes ongoing work to digitally transform our services and develop tech enabled solutions that help our clients achieve their sustainability ambitions. Current focus areas include decarbonisation, climate resilience, biodiversity and resource management.

This provides further training and professional development opportunities over a two year period. As you grow, you will be supported by team members with expertise in data science, GIS web development and graphic design.


Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:


  • Performing standard data processing tasks such as data capture, data cleaning and data wrangling;
  • Generating data insights and visualisations for project teams and clients;
  • Code development;
  • Provide technical expertise to digitalisation projects.


Your key deliverables over the first 12 months will be:


  • Building a strong network of contacts in Ramboll that you collaborate with;
  • Overcome challenges independently, bringing in additional expertise when appropriate;
  • Proactively identify opportunities for your specialism to add value and develop new services;
  • Proactively communicate your capabilities, engage with stakeholders and solicit feedback;

  • Understanding of environmental or sustainability data and its value for clients
  • Understanding of machine learning tools and statistical techniques to produce solutions to problems
  • Proficient in data visualisation using tools such as PowerBI;
  • Proficient in Python using data science libraries such as Numpy, Pandas, scikit-learn and Plotly;
  • An understanding of SQL is preferable


Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include: well developed interpersonal skills, organised, with excellent communication skills. Ability to think creatively, problem solve and pro-actively seek out opportunities to collaborate with others.
