Our Commodities and Global Markets Data Transformation is an exciting program of work as we embark on our journey to build the innovative and future ready Data Platform that will help Macquarie businesses meet customer needs.

As a Lead Data Engineer, you’ll bring your significant data engineering experience across a range of technologies and agile mindset. You will leverage your strong technical background to deliver cutting-edge applications.

Your forward thinking, ability to work collaboratively with product owners, and stakeholder relationship management skills will be key to drive the right outcomes. You’ll possess an in-depth knowledge of big data technologies, data modelling, expertise in the analysis of external requirements, persuasive communication, and stakeholder management skills.

We anticipate that to excel in this role you will have:
  • Demonstrated experience working as a Data Engineer across data warehousing, big data, data pipelines, etc
  • Previous experience managing or leading a team and a track record of success for delivery
  • Strong problem-solving skills, experience with big challenges and innovative ways of thinking
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Docker
  • Experience working in Linux/Unix environments
  • Experience working with AWS
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with Kubernetes, would be beneficial but not essential
