We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with strong programming skills, big data knowledge, and work experience to join our team working on large scale data science projects.
As a Senior Data Engineer you will:
- Collaborate with the data science team to productionalize machine learning models, optimize pipelines, and scale AI projects.
- Develop large scale data structures and pipelines to organize, collect and standardize data that helps generate insights and address project delivery needs.
- Use strong programming skills to build robust data pipelines and dynamic systems.
- Build data marts and data models to support Data Science and other internal customers.
- Integrates data from a variety of sources, assuring that they adhere to data quality and accessibility standards.
- Analyze current information technology environments to identify and assess critical capabilities and recommend solutions.
- Experiments with available tools and advice on new tools in order to determine optimal solution given the requirements dictated by the model/use case.
- Please note this opportunity is available remotely and requires a 10% travel commitment (once in a quarter) to one of the East Coast office locations, NY, CT or MA.
Required Qualifications- 4+ years of experience building high volume data pipelines and working with large-scale search applications.
- 3+ years of experience with Python programming.
- 2+ years of experience with Hadoop/Hive and or Spark.
- 2+ years of experience with GCP and/or other Public Clouds.
- 2+ years of experience with CI/CD building and deploying pipelines.
- 2+ years of experience with Experience with bash shell scripts, UNIX utilities & UNIX Commands.

Preferred Qualifications- Experience with Hadoop architecture, HDFS commands and experience designing & optimizing queries against data in the HDFS environment.
- Ability to leverage multiple tools and programming languages to analyze and manipulate data sets from disparate data sources.
- Ability to understand complex systems and solve challenging analytical problems.
- Experience building data transformation and processing solutions.
EducationBachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, or related discipline
Master’s degree or PhD preferred
