Data Engineer

The team

The Data Science team is a newly formed team consisting of a Data Science Lead, together with Junior and Senior Data Scientists. This means that our data management requires a thorough redesign, which will likely result in building a data platform up from the ground. You will lead this by getting your hands dirty, but also collaborating with our IT and Infrastructure Team, as well as the other members of the Data Science team.

Your expertise as our Data Engineer will play a crucial part in our growth ambitions as well as building up proper data management. This means there is a lot of potential for you to grow within your function and with your team. While joining QWIC, you will be working with more than 20+ enthusiastic techs with whom you will collaborate, learn a lot from each other and be responsible for the data-revolution within our organization.

The role

What does this mean for you specifically? Your task is to manage and organize data. This means you:

• Understand the change logs of the source data of the applications used at QWIC;
  
• Build reliable data pipelines;
• Design the right data models;


• Set up data quality control mechanisms to spot inconsistencies in the data;
• Communicate with departments to see how the use of data can be improved.

Who are you?

You are an experienced Data Engineer and you have extensive knowledge in the field of building data pipelines, data lakes, DWH’s, SaaS solutions and best practices to make this department a success. In a rapidly growing and dynamic company as QWIC, you will feel comfortable switching from one task to the other.

Moreover, you are a pragmatic self-starter who will eagerly research and investigate all facets to improve our systems. While working together with other departments, you're a good communicator. Last but not least, you share our dream to create a sustainable world full of e-bikes!

Furthermore:

• University degree in quantitative data analysis (i.e. econometry, economics, mathematics);
  
• 3 years of experience in a similar data role, ideally in a fast growing e-commerce and/or production environment.
  
• Experience with SQL and relational databases;
  
• Project management skills and familiar with an agile way of working (i.e. scrum);
  
• Strong understanding of data models (Data Vault, Kimball);
• Experience in manufacturing automation is a plus;
  
• Strong understanding ETL programming language and tools;
• Knowledge of SQL and Python;
• Willing to work in Amsterdam.
