Geospatial Data Scientist

Are you a talented Geospatial Data Scientist with a passion for Machine Learning and Computer Vision? Our client, a small but powerful player in the geospatial solutions space, is seeking a versatile individual to join their Milan team. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a cross-functional environment, combining cutting-edge technology, product development, and commercial interaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain geospatial models, tools, and data pipelines
• Implement Machine Learning algorithms to analyse geospatial data and develop predictive models
• Work on Computer Vision tasks such as image classification, segmentation, and object detection using satellite or aerial imagery
• Collaborate with product development teams to design innovative geospatial solutions
• Work with Python, SQL, and Spark for data processing and analysis
• Leverage cloud technologies (AWS preferred) for scalable data and Machine Learning solutions
• Provide mentorship and support to junior data engineers
• Engage in client conversations, supporting account management and technical delivery
• Contribute to product development and strategy from a technical perspective
  
  

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience in geospatial data analysis, Machine Learning model development, and engineering
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, Spark, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Experience with Computer Vision techniques and applications in geospatial contexts
• Cross-functional mindset, with the ability to work across data engineering, product development, and client-facing activities
• Strong communication skills, with a passion for mentoring and guiding junior engineers
• Willingness to travel to Milan and work onsite 2 days per week (hybrid remote model)
