About this role:

  • Salary Range: $100,000 to $120,000 +bonus (starting salary may differ by experience and/or location)

Job Summary:

As a Data Scientist, you are passionate about every aspect of managing and understanding data, from ETL to machine learning. You understand the challenges inherent in real-world datasets and are passionate about unearthing the knowledge they contain. You also appreciate the challenge of working at a high-growth technology company using agile methodology where innovation is valued.

Skills & Requirements

Essential Functions:

  • Become a master of Databricks, our data science environment, the python data science libraries, and the considerations around Apache Spark
  • Understand how to use the range of modeling approaches from classic statistical models to more advanced machine learning and deep learning models
  • Consult with technical and nontechnical teams across the company to identify business opportunities and build processes and/or tools to make them a reality
  • Employ qualitative and quantitative methods to uncover insight and drive business strategy
  • Build and scale infrastructure to support analysis and analytics in a SaaS environment
  • Be a tireless advocate for leveraging data internally and externally to help customers achieve their goals and grow the company

Security Requirement:

Responsible for Granicus information security by appropriately preserving the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) of Granicus information assets in accordance with the company's information security program.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with designing and tuning models to answer data science questions
  • Opinionated about preferred modeling approaches to different problems
  • Ability to translate business questions into data science solutions
  • Experience with deploying a data science model in a high-availability production environment
  • Broad knowledge of statistical and data analysis methodologies
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (especially python, pandas, pyspark, scipy, scikit-learn)
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, visual) and the ability to convey complex concepts in clear business terms
  • Desire to build well-architected, scalable processes that support the whole team’s velocity
  • Ability to take ownership of complex projects and deliver on-deadline
  • Experience with geospatial tools like QGIS and PostGIS is a plus
