We are looking for a motivated junior to mid-level Operations Research Analyst or Data Scientist ready to go to work immediately as part of a multi-disciplinary team to help bring an automated manpower and financial forecasting decision support tool from prototype to final product. The analyst will use analytical and data modeling skills to assist the team to update, improve and web-enable the client's Common Workforce Analysis Tool. Place of work is Arlington, VA in client office space, however, currently maximum telework is authorized using MS Teams. The analyst will be expected to work on assigned tasks independently and as part of a team. Analyst will be provided with initial alogrithms and data analytic reports describing the current system, but should be comfortable with ambiguity and less than perfect models.
Required Experience:
Undergraduate degree in an operations research related field (computer science, math, engineering, physics, political science). Must have at least two years experience applying operations research best practices and/or data analytics, including performing analysis in Excel, Access, SQL, and Python. Experience with large data sets, building analytic dashboards, and applying alogrithms and agent based modeling is required. Familiarity with Java, Visual Basic, and C++ desired but not required. Solid oral and written communications skills, especially around analytical concepts and methods, and ability to work in a team are critical.
