About The Role


As Data Analyst you’ll be a key part of the day-to-day running of heycar UK. You’ll work across all functions in the business from Marketing, Sales and eCommerce. You’ll align closely with our Performance Insight Director to ensure the correct and consistent interpretation of data across the markets.


The main function of your role is to gather information from various sources and interpret patterns and trends, whilst also providing recommendations for optimisation. You’ll report to the Chief of Staff and work closely with the UK Leadership team on key business priorities, with a dotted line to the Performance Insight Director.


What You’ll Do


  • Engage with business units and stakeholders to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) that need tracking daily, weekly and monthly
  • Analyse performance metrics to provide a summary of historical trends, be that seasonality, peak periods or the relationship between two variables
  • Create data visualisation, you’ll know what charts to use where, how variables/types of data should be compared, how to label an axis and where to use them
  • Compare KPIs across different time frames, products, or other business dimensions by building dashboards and creating simple analysis in GSheets
  • Develop insights based on the interpreted data to suggest possible business strategies
  • Track the outcomes of implemented recommendations to gauge effectiveness and recalibrate strategies as necessary
  • Understand and document the current business processes to identify areas for improvement or analysis


Essential


What you’ll need:


  • Experience: at least 5 years experience in data analysis, from within a business that is largely digitally driven from a marketing point of view. You’ll also need to understand the commercial side of a business, how it makes money and how revenue can be optimised
  • Skills: be able to write SQL for analysis and data visualisation
  • Communication: the ability to convince, unite, and communicate findings from data in a simple and easy-to-understand way
  • Startup mentality: we’re four years old and our data’s not perfect, but you won’t let that hold you back from proving/disproving a hypothesis
  • Network: stakeholder management is key to this role, you’ll need to interpret the needs of the business, clarify briefs and prioritise your workload based on the needs of the business


Desirable


  • Systems: knowledge of HEX (our data visualisation tool) or any other visualisation tool (Looker, Tableau etc)
  • Experience: Prior experience in a marketplace/eCommerce business
  • Skills: knowledge of Python or R would be advantageous
