Senior Data Engineer

Do you know AskBlue?We were born in 2013, and we provide information technology consulting services.We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join one of our project teams in Lisbon or Porto, in the area of banking.Team:CIB Analytics Consulting (AC) consists of 70 people based in France (Paris) and Portugal (Lisbon and Porto). Reporting to the CIB Chief Data Officer, AC is an house center of expertise on Data, Analytics and Artificial Intelligence which provides End to End data solution delivery (from solution design to development and deployment). It helps internal entities (primarily CIB) better understand and use internal & external data by offering dashboarding, advanced analytics capabilities and AI applications. This team is at the forefront of the data transformation of the company.Tasks:Explore, clean, and analyze large and complex datasets to support business objectives; Design and implement scalable data processing to handle large volumes of data efficiently and effectively. Optimize and tune these pipelines for performance and reliability; Collaborate with other data engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to identify and define use cases, formulate hypotheses, and design solution; Design performance datapipelines; Participate in project code reviews; Automate the end release of artifacts across environments; Conduct daily ETL job checks and take the necessary actions with production & functional support teams; Contribute to the integrity of the infrastructure setup (define priorities, efficiently create, track the progress of several issues).Requirements:Bachelor's Degree or higher in a technical major, such as engineering, computer science, or a related field. A master's in a relevant field is a plus; 6+ years experience as aData Engineer; Deep understanding of the software development cycle (development, deployment & support of scale data lake / warehouse / Mesh); Solid knowledge and on experience with programming languages – Python, Scala/PySpark are a plus; Strong ability to manipulate, transform, and clean large and complex data sets. Experience with data wrangling, ETL processes and reporting solutions – Alteryx is plus; Knowledge in data mesh concepts/tools and implementation is preferred Starburst and Trino; Strong solving skills with the ability to think critically, analyse complex problems, and derive actionable insight from data; Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and technical stakeholders; Demonstrated ability to work effectively in functional teams and collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise.
