Position Summary
IHS Markit is a global market leader in providing information, analytics and solutions for industries and markets that drive economies worldwide.
The candidate will be a senior member of the Advanced Analytics team at IHS Markit and, working alongside SMEs across the industry verticals, will develop NLP products and solutions. Additionally the candidate will will responsible for determining and implementing tools to support development and deployment of Data Science projects.
Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for research, modelling, optimization, architecture, implementation, deployment and maintenance of innovative projects in the field of Deep Learning and Natural Language Processing:
- Develop training datasets and frameworks supporting training dataset creation and validation process
- Research and develop and optimize Deep Learning models, algorithms and data pipelines
- Design architecture, build and maintain data science projects in the cloud environment
- Lead NLP product development end to end: from POC to productization
- Actively research, explore and identify the latest relevant methods and technologies. Identity, implement and maintain tools supporting development and deployment of the team’s Data Science projects.
Essential Skills
- 7+ years of professional experience in Advanced Analytics / Data Science / Machine Learning and Computer Engineering
- Hands on project lifecycle experience, from business analysis to productization
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP and / or Azure
- Mastery of Python and ability to write robust and high standard, testable code
- Good understanding of machine learning and deep learning methods and their mathematical foundations
- MLOps experience with automation pipelines, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and Continuous Deployment
- Experience with NLP projects
Desirable Experiences
- Publications related to Machine Learning or Deep Learning
- Experience in Data Science competitions
- Contributions to open source projects related to Machine Learning or Deep Learning
Soft Skills
- Able to translate business problems into problems that can be solved with Data Science
- Ability to work in a team
- Able to report progress and summarize issues to a less technical audience
- Curious and open-minded attitude to new approaches
