We're looking for a motivated and quality focused Senior Data Engineer to join our Customer Journey Data Tracking Team.
Our team owns the Customer Journey Analytics pipeline at FLIX. We are a self-organized and cross-functional team with a high focus on autonomy and ownership and use typical Agile frameworks like sprints to organize our work. It is our goal to enable everyone at FLIX to make better and faster business decisions by generating insights from our Customer Journey Data as fast and easy as possible. Our responsibility doesn't stop at providing and maintaining tooling for that. We capture, enrich, and transform the collected raw data into a data model used by analysts and other data teams.
You can expect to be responsible for a fully mature, monitored and adopted product. With your help and enthusiasm we want to broaden and enhance our product vision even further. Some Of The Technologies We Use
- Python (with chance to use Scala)

- Gitlab CI/CD
- You will maintain and adjust the data model to our customer needs.
- You feel fully responsible for our data quality by adding and improving tests.
- You will be expected to use automation wherever possible and follow Infrastructure-as-Code guidelines.
- You will take part in continuous improvements and maintenance of our Spark applications.
- You will consult and support our data analysts and collaborate with other data teams.
- You will maintain/improve/optimize our infrastructure stack that relies on AWS, Kubernetes, PySpark, Docker, Terraform, Snowflake and CI/CD pipelines.
- Bachelor or Master in Computer Science, Information Systems or relevant industry experience.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Data or DevOps Engineer.
- Proficient in Python and SQL
- You are familiar with developing batch and realtime application using Spark.
- Willingness to write infrastructure as a code, ideally Terraform.
- You are able to assess data quality with tools like Jupyter Notebook and SQL based tools like Snowflake or AWS Athena
- You have worked with Docker and Kubernetes (experience with Helm deployments is a plus).
- You have experience with distributed message systems (experience with Kafka is a huge plus).
- You are familiar with CI/CD and believe in DevOps (You build it - you run it)
- You have worked with cloud-based infrastructure providers, especially AWS
- You are ideally familiar with the Snowplow Analytics open source platform
- You are fluent in English
