Position Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Allianz as a Geospatial Data Analyst, focussing on geospatial data and analytics to support our Commercial and Personal lines insurance accounts.The Geospatial team are responsible for delivery of geospatial data and insight to business customers across Underwriting, Pricing, Risk, Claims and Operations. Key responsibilities of the role will include:
- Combining appropriate analytical approaches and geospatial data to inform Pricing and Underwriting decisions;
- Driving sophistication in the Geospatial team’s analytical capabilities to enhance the location intelligence we deliver to the business;
- Sourcing and validating new data and insight of potential value to our business;
- Developing robust data structures and automated processes to support scalable analytical approaches;
- Continuously developing, refining and managing our geospatial data assets;
- Building and managing relationships with key business stakeholders, and working closely with teams across the Data and Technical areas to deliver technical innovation;
- Providing ongoing training and support to our Technical network and business customers.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in analytical teams and developing a reputation for technical excellence and continuously improving location intelligence.
Skills & Experience
- Proven evidence of performing data analysis and building analytical workflows in relevant programming languages (e.g. Python, R);
- Experience working with large/complex datasets and relational database environments;
- Firm understanding of statistical concepts and data science methodologies;
- Experience working with spatial databases (e.g. Oracle, PostgreSQL) highly beneficial;
- Knowledge of GIS software and relevant spatial analysis highly beneficial;
- Knowledge of insurance desirable but not essential;
- Degree Qualified: relevant numerate / geography discipline.
