Senior Data Scientist

• Bachelors in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, AI, Statistics, or equivalent)
• 5+ years of experience solving complex Data Science problems with excellent algorithm formulation skills
• Proficient with SQL and at least one scripting language (e.g., R, Python).
• Experienced in handling large data sets using SQL and databases in a business environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

We are looking for an experienced data science leader who will be responsible for scoping and delivering on business-relevant data science projects for the Amazon Pay India. You and your team will use Machine learning methods and advanced statistics to add value to the business by providing actionable insights and quantifying complex financial estimates. You and your team will apply scientific principles, subject matter expertise, and business acumen to deliver results at scale.

Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate is a hands-on people manager who understands business, is able to partner function leads on business problems, formulate hypothesis and solve for them using data science fundamentals. To support this, this person should be able to:

• Build a vision for the advanced analytics team
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of data scientists and BIE’s.
• Understand the customers real need and determine the business problem
• Ability to build hypothesis, conduct background research and identify business drivers.
• Ensure the feature sets are current. He should be able to connect to data sources wherever necessary.
• Understand and be able to work with propensity Models, using Python to build statistical models basis the need (eg. Outlier models for Fraud), text mining for Voice of Customer (VoC) insights etc.
• Generate feedback reports, dashboards, and other results solutions that are easy to consume.
• Communicate with stakeholders and senior leaders about all aspects of the work
• Masters in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, AI, Statistics, or equivalent) or B.Tech. (Computers / E&C) with MBA.· 8+ years of experience solving complex Data Science problems with excellent algorithm formulation skills
• 3+ years experience leading a team of Data Scientists
• Experience in Banking / Telecom / FMCG industries
• Presented white papers on any topic related to Data Science
