MA Data Scientist

Role Purpose:

As an Margin Assurance Data scientist you will be responsible for mining Vodafone Irelands Data sets to provide insights that lead to value. You will also operate key margin assurance controls that protect Vodafone’s P&L from risks that impact the bottom line. You will use a variety of tools and applications , you will also be given the freedom to bring your own ideas to the table with space to innovate.

Your team:

You will work as part of the Margin Assurance Team, delivering margin assurance services across multiple operating companies, with an initial focus on Vodafone Ireland. You will report directly to the Margin Assurance Manager for Vodafone Ireland. In addition we recognise that our people need flexibility around their working times and location which we accommodate at Vodafone through our hybrid working model.

What else would be beneficial?

• Also beneficial in fulfilling and being considered for this role is a knowledge of, or exposure to:
• Having worked previously in the telecoms industry/consultancy sector.
• Having previously held a Data Science role.
• Having previously held an audit, revenue or margin assurance role.
• Revenue/Margin assurance tools and techniques.
• Accounting principles and practises.
• Risk and Control principles and practises.
• Having a degree and/or postgraduate qualifications in computer/data science or engineering equivalent.
• Be expert in the use of SQL, data mining tools and techniques.
• Be proficient in one or more programming languages e.g. Java, C, C++, C#, Python etc.
• Have 3 years industry experience of data analytics.
• Expertise in one or more data visualisation tools.
• Have excellent written and oral English skills.
• Have a proven record of accomplishment in a previous role.
• Worked with the Google Cloud Platform and associated suite of applications/tools
• Used MicroStrategy
