The Fleet Solutions team builds global tech platforms using the Internet of Things, big data, and automated service management. We constantly strive to improve the user experience for our fleet customers and Continental’s fleet organization.

As a Data Engineer, you will work in a SCRUM team closely with the backend developers, solutions architects and UI/App developers to build and enhance our existing and future digital services within Continental Tires. With this job, you join the global team working on our product ContiConnect, a digital tire monitoring platform for commercial fleets around the world.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Closely collaborate with ContiConnect team members based in Germany, Portugal & US to integrate external measurement systems for tread depth into ContiConnect;
- Driving the setup of integrations with predictive models implemented by data science teams;
- Build new data pipelines and their respective data models;
- Support ongoing operations for data pipelines as 3rd level support engineer;
- Follow Scrum/Agile methodologies to organize and plan projects;

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- University degree in Computer Science, IT, or related studies;
- 5 years of experience as an internal or external consultant / developer for data driven applications;
- Experience supporting and operating a software system;
- Experience in Java programming;
- Advanced knowledge of Apache Spark, Apache HBase and Apache Kafka;
- Experience with Apache Hive (is a plus);
- Intermediate Linux knowledge (is a plus);
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools, like Jenkins (is a plus);
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders;
- Analytical mindset and excellent problem-solving skills;
- Solid communication skills;
- Experience in working in a multinational company (is a plus);
- Fluent English language skills (written / spoken).
