BGIS is currently seeking a Data Analyst Supervisor to join the team.

Purpose Statement: Supervises team of data analysts responsible for collecting, analyzing, sorting, developing customized reports & dashboards and using data visualization techniques on internal and client data. Demonstrates BGIS values with integrity, innovation, sustainability, team member engagement and memorable customer experiences.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Management:
- Partners with leadership to identify required reporting including frequency, formatting and appropriate detail.
- Supervises and develops the data analyst team to support the company’s objectives.
- Interfaces with other departments, senior management and business units to ensure quality and timeliness of data reporting.
- Defines staffing needs and position requirements.
- Makes the hiring recommendations and decisions.
- Communicates performance expectations.
- Conducts performance evaluations and provides helpful feedback.
Data & Project Management:
- Monitors periodic reporting and strategic analysis of structured and unstructured data across multiple data sources.
- Manages projects to ensure clear scope, appropriate resources identified, stakeholders, budgets and timelines.
- Supervises collection of equipment data plate information, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and controls along with equipment attribute information.
- Oversees QA/QC of data plate information.
- Utilizes data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI to formulate models or extract insights.
- Maps additional data sources as needed and ensures creation of customized reports and dashboards.
- Communicates identification of data integrity and integration and troubleshoots with business units and data analyst team.
- Improves work flows and procedures.
- Creates algorithms and identifies patterns and insights from structured and unstructured data sets utilizing graphs, trees and/or other data representation techniques.
- Implements opportunities to maximize data usage, applying modeling and optimization methods to develop new strategies and improve business performance.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES
- Bachelor Degree in computer science, data engineering, actuarial science, electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent with a focus on data management.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in quantitative analysis, data modeling, reporting and data visualization.
- Experience with building/facility equipment or training equivalent.
- Team leadership skills for remote professionals with excellent verbal and written communication.
- Demonstrated time management and prioritization abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and extremely well-organized with the proven ability to work on various tasks simultaneously.
- Exceptional customer service skills able to maintain positive and professional working relationships with internal and external clients.
- Ability to perform ad-hoc, strategic analysis of structured and unstructured data across multiple data sources.
- Skilled in defining data requirements, gathering and validating information and using judgement and statistical tests.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability and willingness to travel.
- Provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office; reimbursed.
