Title: Data Analyst – CCFH

Work Location: Remote During Covid / Potential for Full Remote After Covid
Purpose: The data analyst will collaborate with both internal and external project partners to facilitate a high level of accuracy of data input to achieve excellence and quality data output for the Center for Child and Family Health ’s (CCFH) child fatality review and prevention initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Data Entry Responsibilities:
- Follows data entry codebooks and data entry protocols.
- Supports data collection activities using a variety of data sources including law enforcement, medical examiner, and vital statistics records.
- Contacts various external partners, including law enforcement agencies and medical examiner offices, to request records.
- Enters data accurately and completely into web-based data collection system and Excel spreadsheets.
- Identifies and prioritizes data collection and entry tasks with the Project Coordinator.
- Data Entry Coordination and Quality Assurance Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with CCFH project leads and child fatality review team to ensure data collection and entry goals are achieved.
- Provides ongoing training to CCFH staff and external partners around data entry best practices.
- Verifies data for accuracy and makes recommendations to project team around data quality improvement.
Other Responsibilities:
- MPHI employees are expected to maintain a positive, strong, credible, and professional interpersonal relationship with all parties relevant to MPHI projects and represent the best interest of MPHI at all times.

Qualifications and Requirement
Education: A bachelor’s degree is required for this position in a relevant discipline. A master’s degree is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of three to five years of experience leading data entry or management activities required; experience in a public health or related field preferred.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Ability to and interest in working in collaborative teams.
- Self-motivated; able to complete work in a timely manner and handle multiple tasks at one time with minimal supervision.
- Required proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (particularly in Word, Excel, and Access) and familiarity with email/internet browser software.
- Basic working skills in SPSS desired.
- Knowledge of/willingness to learn about applying health equity concepts to public health practice.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Works partially in an office setting. The position may require moderate physical effort including working with computers 25% to 75% of the time. Standard office environment. Requires valid vehicle operator’s license and may require travel both in and out-of-state.
