Are you an experienced Senior Data Analyst with strong technical knowledge of Superannuation/Financial Markets with a passion for leading and developing a team? We have an excellent opportunity in our Remediation, Rectification & Risk Department.
The Role
The Lead Data Analyst main purpose is to co-ordinate the workflow of multiple Data Analysts (DA) to facilitate and determine suitable steps to perform data analysis, data assurance, compensation payment (interest) calculations, developing extracts from core administration systems and creating core SQL scripts an documenting process procedures. This role requires the Lead Data Analyst to collaborate with the Project Manager, Business Analysts and numerous delivery partner, stakeholders across the business, in understanding incidents and planning its data requirements needed for rectification / remediation.
This role will suit someone with strong data analysis skills who enjoys leading a team to ensure best outcomes for the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for output and quality of DA team members
- Responsible for setting KPI and performance targets for team members
- Point of escalation for team members
- Serve as an ongoing coach or advisor to the DA team, including technical coaching ensuring documentation is accurate and complete, meets the required standards, deadlines are being met
- Managing the onboarding / roll-off activities for DA resources who join or leave the team ( MLC Wealth Limited)
- Environment management i.e. ensuring the infrastructure requirements and calculation tools are maintained / validated for currency etc
- Assurance activities for peers to ensure calculation and compensation accuracy.
- Understand the overall data driven scope of the incident and identify efficiencies and best practice (where feasible)
- Manage quality of data outputs
- Identification, escalation and mitigation of risks in the client identification process
- Build and operation of remediation data assets is expected to include:
- Creating tools and techniques to optimise program processes
- SQL script writing and SQL script review in support of program processes
- Suggesting process improvements and optimisations
- Understanding of Indices, fundamentals and analytical data, returns level data etc.
- Undertake daily, fortnightly scrum ceremonies for the project
To Be Successful In This Role You Will Possess
- Advanced Data analysis and SQL experience is essential
- Experience leading a team
- Supurb/Compass experience is highly regarded
- Excellent stakeholder management and ability to influence at all levels
- Demonstrable training / experience cleansing and blending data from different data sources to perform analysis using SQL
- Proven experience to ‘cut’ the data, as opposed to building Databases/Data Architecture
- Strong data analysis skills, with proven experience working in a complex data environment and large data sets, as well as capability using database query to extract and draw conclusion from data sets
- SQL Certification
- IT, Commerce or Finance related degree OR prior experience in client identification for a large-scale remediation program.
