About the Role
The Data and Analytics team team are looking for a committed, self-motivated and dynamic individual, to work as part of the VMA Scrum team in Sydney. We seek candidates that can take ownership and drive out requirements working closely with multiple stakeholders to ensure data requirements and use cases are well understood and articulated for VMA on the BOQ data platform.
As one of our Data Analysts, you will primarily work fulfilling the following responsibilities:
- Data analysis on within project scope confirmed by the business analyst;
- Collaborate with system owners to identify data gaps and facilitate delivery of data files or identification of data gaps and possible remediation of gaps with systems owners;
- Documentation of Interface Specifications for data files in scope;
- Data Profiling & Analysis of source data to identify Data Quality issues for all critical data elements;
- Documentation of Data Quality issues in appropriate Data Quality Issues Register;
- Data Ingestion activities – Documentation of data mapping configuration as per the ingestion process;
- Data Ingestion activities – Validation of Data Ingestion process by ETL Framework;
- Data Curation and related documentation (source to target mapping – with pseudo codes);
- Document detailed tech specifications to support development;
- Identification and documentation of data gaps & default values (or proxies as confirmed with BA and system owners);
- Documentation to support production deployments of data in scope;
- Assisting Developers and Testers to understand technical rules and exception handling requirements;
- SQL analysis for new in-scope items;
- Data Analysis on Scope confirmed by Business Analyst;
- Understanding of Regulatory Requirements;
- Data Analysis on Scope confirmed by Business Analyst;
- Data Analysis at Attribute level;
- Interface Specification & SLAs;
- Mapping for Data Curation into Data Platform; and
- Document to support Production Deployments of the Data in scope.

- Expert SQL skills - ability to understand technical procedures;
- Desirable - Broad understanding of regulatory requirements;
- Bachelor degree in IT, Business, Computer Science or similar;
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills;
- Proactive working attitude, results-oriented and focused/strong desire to succeed;
- Strong communication, organisational skills;
- Attention to detail;
- Able to work under pressure and deadline as well as quality driven;
- Dynamic hands-on learner;
- Ability to contribute both independently and as part of a team; and;
- Excellent listening, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
