What we're looking for:


You are a Data Engineer on the Enterprise data and analytics (IT) architecture and platforms team who will help guide the data architecture strategies for complex projects and guide the work of experienced and junior agile teams.

Position Overview:

This position will be accountable for designing and delivering on the enterprise data and analytics platforms using data engineering and associated skills and working within a SAFe/Agile operating model.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Leads data engineering projects for evaluation, prototyping, designing and implementation of subject areas on the enterprise scale data lake-house using batch and event driven (real-time) ETL/ELT solutions, and loading of data from a wide variety of cloud and on-prem data sources.
  • Leads the design and implementation of scalable and complex cloud-native data ingestion frameworks and API integrations for consuming real-time, high volume and complex streaming data for the purpose of data activations of various end user applications.
  • Leads the development and implementation of security policies and controls on Azure and Snowflake by evaluating the data threat models (both cloud and on-premises), security postures and ensuring all security considerations are accounted for and coaches others on the team on data security best practices.
  • Drives continuous improvement in agile team’s delivery by designing, developing and supporting CI/CD processes and by designing and implementing methods to track and improve data reliability and quality.
  • Identifies and implements industry best practices for the team to follow and provides design guidance that follows the enterprise architecture vision and adheres to applicable application technology guidelines; and mitigating the impact of technical design to security, performance and data privacy.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, other architects, developers and business partners to provide technical design guidance to align with strategy and applicable technical standards

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2-4 years of prior relevant experience; or Master’s degree with 2 years building enterprise scale data engineering solutions.
  • Exceptional programming skills in T-SQL, Snowflake SQL and Python with knowledge of PEP style guides and best practices for snowflake data modelling and building analytical applications on Snowflake cloud data platform and on-prem SQL Server.
  • Data engineering pipelines leveraging Azure (Azure Data factory, PySpark /Azure data bricks, Azure functions , logic apps and EventHub) and Snowflake ( programming(SPs, UDFs), Snowpipe, time travel, cloning, partitioning, snowsql, snowflake CLI)
  • Hands-on development experience on building big data ingestion frameworks and API integrations on either GCP (bigquery, Google Workflows) or AWS (AWS Glue, AWS MKS) or Azure (ADB, functions , logic apps and EventHub/Kafka).
  • Hands-on working knowledge of Data security (role-based access controls (RBAC), access policies (row based, column based), encryption, masking and classification) on Azure and snowflake platform, data wrangling, advanced analytics tools and visualization platforms.
  • Knowledge of building CI/CD processes leveraging Azure DevOps, Git Enterprise, YAML, Azure bicep ARM Templates, CLI and/or Terraform.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good to have: GCP or AWS certifications.

In the state of Colorado, the salary for this role generally ranges from $78,382 -$97,978 but may vary depending on your qualifications including job-related education, training, experience, licensure, and certification, that could result at a level outside of this range.
