Senior Data Engineer

BME is the infrastructure of all the securities markets and financial systems in Spain and is owned by SIX.
SIX / BME is recruiting a data engineer for its Public Cloud Competence Center.
In this role you will be a part of a cross-functional team and will be responsible for designing, implementing and consulting on public cloud data science and analytics services.
What You Will Do
- Maintain and support the Cloud Data Science platform as a managed service
- Envision and implement the roadmap for the Cloud Data Science platform in close collaboration with the key stakeholders
- Support and create data ingestions and data transformation and visualisation pipelines
- Consult business and IT teams on cloud native data processing designs for data science and analytics purposes
What You Bring
- Hands on experience with building data pipelines on public cloud services on platforms like Microsoft Azure and/or AWS or GCP
- Knowledge of Hadoop and Spark environments, with the ability to optimize the cloud cost
- Knowledge of software development and data transformation languages like Python, SQL and Scala, CI/CD, and automation concepts to build system critical data processing pipelines
- Basic knowledge of cloud foundation services (networking, security, storage and IAM), their operation and configuration options
- Open mind and proactive attitude for continuous learning and development, customer focus
- Fluent english speaking and writing is mandatory
