As part of the Business Information Security Department, The Data Scientist will collect, research and develop effective and efficient controls for BNP Paribas business and métiers to help them detect security threats on their respective perimeters. Security controls will support the BNP Paribas business teams to setup proactive posture against the change of cyber threats technics and will cover many aspects of security (physical security, infrastructure security, cyber intelligence, but also Anti-Fraud)

The successful candidate will work within the Data Analytics Team and collaborate with APAC Cyber Security teams, RISK ORC and different stakeholders from the business

Responsibilities

• Main interfaces including Production Security, Cyber Threat Intelligence, Cyber Security Incident Response Team, Digital Risk & Security Risk Management, Business IT, Legal and Compliance, RISK ORC
• Work closely with Cyber Security teams to understand the technics to elaborate the adapted countermeasures to detect security threats (including e-fraud)
• Progressively build a data inventory for cyber threat detection and describe data life cycles for all businesses and métiers
• Help the Data Analytics team in building relevant security dashboards across any relevant security data source
• Provide support to Cyber Intelligence team in analyzing external threats and their potential impact on the organization
• Enhance existing controls that rely on video data (including CCTV)
• Help the team in building a anomaly detection framework using a wide variety of security data sources
• Contribute to Anti Money Laundering initiatives
• Help the Data Analytics team to enhance the existing graph analytics framework
• Perform research and development on new statistical techniques to detect threats using security data

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience as Data Analyst preferably in Banking Industry control teams
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge in machine learning and data engineering with experience in implementing solutions managing large amount of data
• Ability to propose innovative ideas or solutions
• Knowledge sharing and guidance for other analyst/data science
• Takes initiative and is results driven
• Strong decision making and analytical skills
• Ability to manage change and complexity with confidence
• Experience with fraud detection on payment systems is a plus
• Experience with graph / network data is a plus
• Experience with recognition analytics controls on video is a plus
• Client focused and commercial thinking
• Self-motivated and genuine interest in Banking and Finance
• Experience in building impactful presentations (PowerPoint)
• Experience in working with JavaScript development is a plus
• Strong knowledge of Python
• Strong knowledge of databases (experience working with Elasticsearch is a plus)
• University degree or equivalent in Computer Science discipline
• Professional credentials in one of the relevant Data Analytics
