This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced start-up environment and deliver real-world, actual problem-solving solutions to our customers within the $21B online language-learning space.

In this position, you will use your software development and engineering skills to work cross-departmentally to help us as we implement our plan for realLINGUA 2.0 and continuous improvements to our web application. You will work with other members of our team to do everything from building out and maintaining front- and back-end functionalities, enhancing and scaling the database, working on mobile application development, and, most especially, implementing machine learning functionalities within our applications and innovating in our conversational AI for language-learning development.

Desired Qualifications

• working knowledge of one or more programming languages (especially JavaScript, React, Node.js, and React-Redux, TensorFlow, Caffe, Torch, Spark, Theano) and an aptitude for acquiring new programming languages as the position requires
• strong numeric & problem-solving skills with a solid grasp of object-oriented concepts & design methodologies
• degree in Data Science, Computer Science/Engineering, Software Engineering or similar is a plus

Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus:

• React, Java, Javascript, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, python
• Spring Boot, Gradle, Tomcat, Nginx, Apache, Android Studio, XCode, Apache Cordova

Knowledge of and/or interest in any of the the following, while not required for the position, would be a bonus:

• (human) foreign language-learning and/or teaching, applied linguistics, 2nd language acquisition (SLA), 2nd language learning (SLL)
• computer-assisted language-learning (CALL), mobile-assisted language-learning (MALL)
• machine learning, AI, natural language processing (NLP), computational linguistics

Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.

This is a part-time, contract position to start. Equity compensation package to start with significant potential leadership and growth opportunities as we scale.
