Team Overview The goal of Research Digital Product is to create a commercial platform that seamlessly delivers all of J.P. Morgan's capabilities to clients when and how they want them, aligning our technology, data, digital solutions, and operational services to provide an unparalleled experience.
Opportunity Join a highly functional team of deep subject matter expertise working to pioneer industry leading data products. The Data Engineering Product Manager will partner with Research analysts, software engineers, systems architects, and go to market teams to construct an innovative set of cross asset data products for commercialization. The successful candidate will analyze, transform and clean time series data sets using a variety of statistical and programming techniques.
Responsibilities - Apply strong software engineering skills (Python) as well as the ability to write SQL queries to a portfolio of data engineering challenges.
- Familiarity with practices such as moving averages, quantitative methods, e.g. calculating the running historical volatility of a time series of returns. Strong interest in economic and financial data. The exact nature will vary from project to project
Requirements - BS in a quantitative discipline, e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, with experience in a quantitative position
- Hands-on experience analyzing data
- Strong ability to develop and debug in Python or similar professional programming language
- Ideally, some experience with machine learning APIs and computational packages
- Interest in learning and applying data science techniques over time
- Should be able to work both individually and collaboratively in teams, in order to achieve project goals
- Must be curious, hardworking and detail-oriented, and motivated by complex analytical problems
- Must be able to independently research and propose alternatives with some guidance as to problem relevance
- Able to work with non-specialists in a partnership model, conveys information clearly and creates a sense of trust with stakeholders
- Experience applying either programming techniques for data analysis to drive business results
