Work with global, regional, and local stakeholders throughout the team to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions
Mine and analyze data from company databases and external sources to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies
Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets
Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting and other business outcomes
Support the communication of the results of custom analysis to non-technical audiences in an easily understandably method
Provide quantitative analysis to key stakeholders to drive growth in the business
Strong business acumen and enjoy telling stories with data
Research and devise statistical models for data analysis
Build out infrastructure and processes for data analysis and reporting
Develop methodologies to measure the effectiveness of business initiatives
Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques: GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, text mining, social network analysis, etc.
Working knowledge of utilizing one or more data/computing tools: MySQL, Hadoop, Spark, etc.
Knowledge and experience with sentiment analysis, text classification, and other Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks
Experience querying databases and using statistical computer languages: Power BI, R, Python, SLQ, etc.
Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.
Experience presenting data for stakeholders using best practices for data visualization
Familiarity with web scraping techniques in any preferred programming language
Experience working with and creating data architectures for statistical analysis
Self-starter attitude with sharp business judgement
High attention to detail
Working knowledge of marketing mathematical tools and methods, marketing test and learn plans, ROI development and data mining/multivariate analysis
Thrive on finding creative solutions and adapting to constantly changing circumstances
Knowledgeable about best practices around data manipulation, building data pipelines, feature engineering and creating dashboards
Capable of designing and executing on test/control experiments with minimal guidance
Experience working with real time and clickstream data
Data Scientist 5+ years experience working with data utilizing advanced quantitative techniques (Associate Data Scientist 1-3 years working experience in quantitative field)
Bachelor’s degree from a top school (preferably in a quantitative field)
Graduate degree from a top school in Data Science preferred
Expertise with at least two of the standard analysis tools: Excel, SQL, R, Python, Hadoop, Stata, SAS, etc.
Knowledge of statistical techniques: regression, simulation, clustering, decision trees, etc.
Expertise running advanced analytics in a scripting language
Experience leveraging government data or publicly available APIs
Proven track record of writing elegant code and coaching others to improve technical outputs
