Bumble is looking for a well rounded, curious and proactive Data Analyst to join the Research team and work across both of our brands, Bumble and Badoo. You will have the opportunity to design bespoke analytical approaches for some truly fascinating projects centred on understanding culture and human behaviour run across multiple markets. You will also have a pivotal role in helping us grow the statistical strand of our research practice.
This role will be based in London, reporting to the Research Director.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Act as a partner and ally to our brands, design, creative and communication teams, to ensure that user thinking is a core part of the marketing and product process
- Advise on and delivering suitable analytics solutions to address strategic business opportunities
- Own statistical analysis & modelling and advanced quant projects from start to finish, including reporting and delivering of insights to stakeholders
- Be responsible for maintaining and improving the existing portfolio of analytics tools and techniques
- Deliver inspirational, action orientated and professional standard research
- Develop innovative thinking and new analytics techniques
- Identify opportunities to increase analytic capabilities using several data sources
- Mentor colleagues so they can develop strong advanced quant skills
EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- BSc and/or MSc in statistics, mathematics, econometrics, physics, business intelligence, behavioural science, actuarial science or related areas
- Ideally 6-8 years of analytics experience
- Market research, insight or marketing background is desirable
- A wide range of technical skills including but not limited to; Pricing, Clustering, Classification & Prediction, Data Reduction & Mapping, Prioritisation & Optimisation, Text Analysis
- Behavioural economics and emotional analysis
- Software skills such as SPSS, R, Sawtooth Lighthouse, Excel / VB
- Data visualisation tools, machine learning, AI, SQL/database is desirable
- Excellent questionnaire writing skills
- Strong storytelling skills, including excellent PowerPoint skills

- You have a strong ability to own statistical analysis & modelling and quant projects from start to finish, including reporting and delivering of insights to stakeholders
- You have a strong interest in helping us to improve and expand our existing portfolio of analytics tools and new ways of thinking about data analytics and analytical capabilities
- You are comfortable in a fast-paced environment where you communicate daily with world-class talent from our global teams including product designers, business intelligence analysts, senior stakeholders
- You are positive and committed with a 'can-do' attitude and a flexible approach
- You are a problem solver and a forward thinker
- You are a self-starter: you thrive on taking ownership of initiatives with limited oversight
- You are naturally curious and inquisitive
- You have excellent time management and you know how to manage multiple priorities, breaking large projects into manageable pieces
- You have great communication skills, both verbal and written
