Overview
The project is a comprehensive, nationally representative health survey designed to assess the health and wellness of individuals across the country. Beyond traditional questionnaires and interviews, this survey incorporates biospecimen collection, allowing for a more in-depth analysis of participants' health. Participants will provide biological samples, such as blood, saliva, or urine, which will be meticulously analyzed to understand various physiological, genetic, and biochemical markers. This combination of survey data and biospecimen analysis aims to offer a holistic view of the nation's health, identifying trends, risk factors, and areas of concern.
The Data Analyst: Collects, analyzes, and stores data and uses it to help clients or companies make better decisions. Responsible for, managing master data, including creation, updates, and deletion. Managing users and user roles. Provides quality assurance of imported data, working with quality assurance analyst if necessary. Commissioning and decommissioning of data sets. Processing confidential data and information according to guidelines. Helping develop reports and analysis. Managing and designing the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata. Supporting the data warehouse in identifying and revising reporting requirements. Supporting initiatives for data integrity and normalization. Assessing tests and implementing new or upgraded software and assisting with strategic decisions on new systems. Generating reports from single or multiple systems. Troubleshooting the reporting database environment and reports. Evaluating changes and updates to source production systems. Training end users on new reports and dashboards. Providing technical expertise on data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing. Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations. Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, lay terms. High-level experience in methodologies and processes for managing large scale databases. Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases. Requires an understanding of addressing and metadata standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintain report forms and formats, information dashboards, data generators, canned reports and other end-user information portals or resources.
- Develop and implements databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
- Maintain report forms and formats, information dashboards, data generators, canned reports and other end-user information portals or resources.
- Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques.
- Analyze trends or patterns in complex data sets, isolate anomalies and report findings to leadership.
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
Base Compensation: $70,000.00- $80,000.00/yr
The salary offered within this range will be based on the selected candidates skills, experience, education, market data, and internal parity. DLH may offer other rewards that may include performance incentives and program-specific awards. An applicant’s salary history will not be used to determine compensation.
Qualifications
Education:
BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics or equivalent.
Experience:
2 years minimum relevant work experience.
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks).
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and operating systems preferred..
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Maintains high quality standards and attention to detail in work product.
