Facebook is seeking an experienced analyst responsible for gathering, sharing and ensuring the integrity of the location data used by partner teams. The successful candidate will be an energetic, highly driven, solution-focused individual that can work well with internal and external partners at the highest levels of the organization. Simply put, this role is responsible for ensuring that the teams creating and directing the location strategy have the tools and data necessary to do their job.
- Establish FCS as an equal partner for providing input and key data points to support Facebook’s location strategy decision making processes
- Serve as the central point for all of FCS’s data efforts around location strategy pulling information from FCS leaders as well as acting as the main POC for the People Analytics and Workforce Strategy (PAWS), Location Strategy, Finance, and Mission Control teams
- Establish a centralized program, dataset and research capability for all data around location strategy globally. Key data points include: Headcount data and forecasting (long-range planning), Portfolio data (current locations, capacities, costs), Market Data (costs/trends in market, availability), and Additional overlays: commute times, serviced offices, cost of living, indirect costs
- Lead the development of two FCS datasets: one for existing sites and one that can be incorporated into the PAWS location model for future sites: Partner with FCS transaction teams to build a custom dataset that uses market data for future locations and create a survey for FCS leadership to identify a list of items to add to and prioritize in a location model (commute times, housing prices, public transit access, etc.)
- Leverage FCS dataset to support semi-annual LRP discussions and roll-up
- Support a globally consistent data-driven location strategy approach across the FCS organization
- In partnership with People Analytics and Workforce Strategy (PAWS), support the establishment of a Location Strategy Governance Board that meets quarterly
- Serve on the Location Strategy Governance Board and participate in all location strategy meetings — both tech location strategy and Biz/GMS
- Establish a communication plan for all relevant FCS stakeholders to ensure relevant information data points, and decisioning from Governance Board and location strategy meetings is shared back with key internal FCS teams (i.e., Regional Leads, Space Planning, Transactions, etc.)
- Identify economic development opportunities for new locations
- Collaborate with internal business partners and stakeholders (e.g., Finance, HR, Mission Control, Space Planning Transactions, Portfolio Management, etc.) to continually evaluate and improve FCS location strategy program
- 10+ years in commercial real estate research, transactions management or related experience
- Experience interpreting and implementing policies and processes
- Experience with leveraging data analytics and using automation for monitoring
- Experience building working relationships across the organization and with outside vendors
- Experience leading and motivating teams
- BA/BS in data science, finance or business administration preferred
- Strong research and quantitative data modeling skills: Experience working with large data sets to provide analytical support to all aspects of the business
- Computer skills: Advanced excel skills and proficient in PowerPoint for presentation purposes
- Collaborative skills: Experience working with cross functional teams and with the maturity to interact directly with senior executives across departments, as well as provide leadership to teams on the implementation of strategic initiatives
- Proven communication skills: Experience coordinating and building relationships with key cross functional teams to ensure effective implementation and functioning of the program
