How You Can Make an Impact:


Reporting to the Associate Director of Data Science, the Data Scientist works with an experienced team who draws upon deep expertise in data science, data analytics, and real-world clinical data to deliver innovative data-driven strategies and insights for clients in the life sciences industry across all phases of product development and commercialization. Our work helps clients define markets, demonstrate value and effectiveness, and inform business decisions throughout product lifecycles.


How You’ll Spend Your Day:


  • Works collaboratively with team to synthesize business rules and methodological approach to answer questions posed by internal or external clients
  • Analyzes raw healthcare data from multiple sources, such as, electronic health records and claims data, using algorithms and statistical programming
  • Ensures data sets and reports are built to specifications and formats output of data analysis for customer readiness
  • Participates in peer review meetings for each of the deliverables
  • May work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Leverage data visualization and interactive dashboards to effectively communicate insights and help clients make better decisions from our clinical data products
  • May interact with clients to clarify needs and in reviewing results
  • Proactively communicates, collaborates, and builds relationships with external and internal clients
  • Translating the findings from reports for clients into implications or recommendations for business decisions
  • Formulate and implement effective data strategies, and identify areas for significant efficiency gain through automation
  • Provides quality assurance on all assigned reporting and data extracts

What You’ll Need:


  • Bachelors/Master’s degree in Healthcare, Public Health, Statistics, Research Methods, or related fields preferred.
  • Must have 4+ years of work experience in clinical data analysis
  • 2+ years of experience in SAS and advanced SQL skills
  • Experience in mining Claims and EMR data, preferably oncology related data


What Will Help You Excel?


  • Foundational Experience in any cloud platform (ability to perform data analysis and build data transformation logic)
  • Python skills preferred
  • Experience or a strong interest in statistical programming, visualization and applying quantitative methods to real-world business problems in the life sciences industry
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Self-starter, able to work with limited supervision
  • Demonstrates curiosity and a creative approach to problem solving
  • Effectively work independently and within a team
  • Excellent attention to detail and desire to continuously learn and develop professionally
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Healthcare consulting and oncology experience

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.


Our Base Pay Range for this position


$101,300 - $168,900
