Data Analyst

About the role:

Work closely with data stewards, business areas, engineers and data scientists to:

• Support the design and implementation of predictive and prescriptive models under limited supervision.
• Work with stakeholders to identify analytical solutions to address business problems
• Analyse, evaluate, clean and visualise data to assist with integration, pattern recognition, statistical analysis, data conversion and machine learning
• Analyse data and provide input into the prediction of future trends and actionable business insights and recommendations
• Conduct research, extract and support the transformation of data for analysis and model development
• In consultation with data scientists, prepare data for advanced analytics applications e.g. machine learning algorithms
• Under guidance, apply relevant algorithms to predictive analytics problems, evaluate and interpret the results
• Present data through various data visualisation techniques to enable the creation of insight into customer problems

About you

• Sound understanding and experience with data analysis tools, programming languages and operating system
• Sound knowledge of relational database design and storage (e.g. Teradata, HANA and Data Lake)
• Strong knowledge of data analysis and profiling (e.g. SQL, Python or software products), and visualisation methods & tools (e.g. Tableau)
• General knowledge of machine learning algorithms and how they can be applied for predictive analytics applications
• Ability to apply a variety of visualisation techniques and designs the content and appearance of data visuals, to select appropriate visualisation approach from a range of applicable options and to contributes to exploration and experimentation in data visualisation
• Ability to assess the integrity of data from multiple sources and apply transformations of data/information from one format or medium to another to satisfy defined intelligence and insight needs
