Data Scientist

Apply is pushing the envelope in digital transformation to build ‘smart products' that are data-driven. Our projects are varied, from applying machine learning within web platforms, to big data pipelines and deep learning based. You may be involved in all stages of the project life cycle, from problem formulation to data collection, experimentation, and productionization. A keen ability to seek clarity amidst complexity, communicate openly, and a willingness to learn, will serve as assets in this role.

ABOUT THE JOB

As a Data Scientist at Apply, you will help lead the conversation and implementation of smart products, breaking down complex problems, using data to derive insights and opportunities, and share your work with teammates as well as the rest of the organization. Day to day, you may find yourself exploring data, creating data processing pipelines, conducting machine learning experiments, or designing intelligent product features.

MUST HAVES

• Bachelor or equivalent in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related analytical field
• 2+ years working in analytics or data science environment
• Good understanding of modelling techniques, such as regression, time series analysis

• Good understanding of machine learning techniques, such as supervised and unsupervised learning, classification, etc.
• Familiar with Python programming and its data science stack (Numpy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib, etc.)
• Ability to communicate technical material to a variety of audiences.

GREAT TO HAVES

• Masters in computer science, statistics, or a related analytical field
• Demonstrable statistical modelling or machine learning experience in past projects
• Strong CS fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design and complexity analysis
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure
• Hands-on experience with big data platforms like Apache Spark.
