Booking.com continues to develop new products (i.e. adding other travel related products on our platform), global tax regulations continue to change and local (tax) reporting and collection obligations for platforms are becoming our new reality. Within the tax team we see the increased requests & requirements from (tax) authorities to share data owned by Booking.com. That’s why we are looking for additional expertise to expand our Tax team with a Data Analyst.
As a Data Analyst - Tax you will work for Booking.com in Amsterdam (Booking.com’s headquarters), where our entire tax department sits. You will report directly into one of the Tax Managers. The tax department currently consists of around 40 persons, responsible for various disciplines (CIT, TP, VAT, Tax accounting and other experts). The tax department is part of Booking.com’s international Finance team (approx. 1000 professionals, mostly based in Amsterdam).
The role involves close interaction with our entire tax team, our parent company (Booking Holdings Group based in Norwalk, Connecticut), our international offices, functional teams and other finance colleagues. The position leads on and contributes to central Tax programmes and initiatives for strategic stakeholder engagement within the tax team as well as the broader (finance) organization.
Within the Tax team the Data Analyst will be the driver of how data is leveraged to comply with local and international tax regulations. With a deep practical understanding of the data, workflows, methods and tooling, the Data Analyst will autonomously drive analysis and reporting within the scope of the Tax team. They can adapt their tooling and approach based on business and regulatory needs. This involves reporting, visualization and taking ownership of workflows and support initiatives for data quality and stability, using their experience to think of scalable solutions. Due to the rapid changes in the organization, the tasks and duties of this role may evolve over time. You will be keen to develop and grow within the role and to take on additional challenges and responsibilities as they occur.
