Would you like to join us in an exciting position in Manufacturing Technology & Science (MTS) which is Ferring’s global Centre of Expertise for aseptic and solid/non-sterile manufacturing technologies, analytics and primary packaging? We support manufacturing sites all over the world in verifying and continuously improving process and analytical technologies to ensure compliance and effective supply of products to our patients. We are also responsible for the manufacturing launch of new products from development and for driving manufacturing innovation projects. The job
As Data Scientist you will be part of a global team supporting the entire manufacturing network and your overall focus is to extract insights from data which enable the organization to make data-driven decisions and improve company’s performance.
As Data Scientist, you lead projects related to data analysis and modeling with a strong focus on innovation, quality enhancement and cost reduction. You interact with project teams and manufacturing process experts to contextualize the data and acquire process knowledge. You participate to projects as a data expert to solve business and research questions through statistical analysis. You promote, by training and coaching your colleagues, leveraging data in all company’s areas.
Your essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Identify and lead project opportunities to leverage and promote the use of data (e.g. quality improvement, cost reduction).
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to progress data science projects (e.g. business customers, IT, OT)
  • Collect data and make sure to access relevant data sources.
  • Select, develop and assess the performance of data models. Document model development (reports, custom code test and review) and validate it according to established standards.
  • Transfer of model from development to production.
  • Provide “on-demand” support for data driven decisions: within project teams, define business/research questions and execute data analysis enabling a rationale/fact-based decision making.
  • Identify data science related training needs for stakeholders within Ferring. Create training content and courses. Provide training and/or supervise the execution of training provided by external partners.
  • Collaborate in establishing standards (SOP) and best-practice guidance documents to ensure state of the art data science within Technical Operations
  • Maintain a collaboration network with data science stakeholders within and outside your department (R&D, IT, OT)
Qualifications
We expect the ideal candidate to have below qualifications:
  • Scientific University Master’s degree with focus in Data Science or equivalent experience acquired in job
  • Past experience in Data Science, preferably applied to pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Experience in the following fields appreciated: Process Analytical Technology, NIR/RAMAN spectroscopy, IT or OT (management of data, computer network architecture, code review, validation, deployment). Pharma or non-pharma experience welcome.
  • Proficient in Statics, Data Analysis and Machine Learning (including Deep Learning)
  • Coding languages for data management and data science applications (Python, SQL)
  • Good working knowledge of manufacturing, GMP, and FDA requirements
  • Project management experience
  • Language: English (fluent, speaking & writing)
