Within AA Driving School, we’re looking for a Data Platform Engineer to join our tech team in Cardiff. As a Data Engineer, you’ll be a crucial role in developing, implementing, and maintaining our data infrastructure to support business decision-making, using a range of tools such as SQL, PowerBI, PowerApps, and PowerAutomate.
You’ll build and scale-up a data warehouse to deliver analytics, insight, and reporting to the Driving School and wider organisation. You’ll also collaborate with the Data Engineering team to support the ongoing development of our data warehouse, develop, test, and maintain our databases, data processing systems, and data pipelines using T-SQL & SQL Server, and build and implement high-quality analytics and business intelligence solutions.
What will I be doing?
- Partner with the Data Engineering team to advance our data warehouse, ensuring a seamless data lifecycle from acquisition to presentation.
- Design, test, and maintain databases and data systems using T-SQL & SQL Server, with a focus on scalable analytics and business intelligence solutions.
- Automate workflows and create applications using Microsoft PowerAutomate and PowerApps to meet comprehensive user requirements.
- Uphold the highest data quality standards, with accessible data for stakeholders and end-users, and establish test suites to ensure data integrity.
- Translate diverse business needs into technical solutions, collaborating with the tech team and business units to meet objectives and best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement and knowledge sharing, staying abreast of industry trends and fostering the growth of junior team members.
What do I need?
- Extensive experience in Data Development, utilising a broad spectrum of tools and software.
- Proficient with Microsoft PowerBI and PowerAutomate, capable of demonstrating expertise with ease.
- Knowledgeable in T-SQL/SQL development, ETL, Data Warehousing, and data manipulation language.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a history of providing complete solutions.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration and engaging various stakeholders, adept at demystifying technical terminology for diverse audiences.
- Enthusiastic about the transformative potential of Data for organisations.
