Under general direction of the Assistant Director of Data Systems, as a member of the Admissions Data Management team, this individual is responsible for performing a variety of technical duties which require knowledge of methods and procedures in support of the campus' competitive recruitment and admission selection process. It also includes the development of the various electronic data collection tools, which include the electronic web application that drives the automated selection and formal admission decisions for the campus.
This individual works closely with leadership of the Admissions team to support the day-to-day technical and communication initiatives.
The Admissions Office serves the University by recruiting, admitting and enrolling a highly qualified, diverse new student population. The Admissions Office's primary function is to advise prospective students and the general public on admissions requirements, and to process all relevant materials to make an admission determination. This position, under general direction, provides advising to prospective students in support of the entire admission process and assists in actively recruiting and advising prospective students.
Working knowledge of database systems such as Oracle's PeopleSoft or similar systems, including administration and reporting.
Knowledge of data administration principles and techniques.
Ability to analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistical techniques.
Ability to initiate, establish, and foster communication and teamwork by maintaining a positive, cooperative, productive work atmosphere with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within a diverse population and with those from various cultural backgrounds internal and external to the University community.
Ability to analyze data requirements, research data availability and access methods.
Education and Experience
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university. One year of technical or administrative experience. A graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Anticipated Hiring Range: $48,000 - $66,000 Per Year
Classification Range: $39,456 - $73,944 Per Year
