The Opportunity

As a Lead Data Engineer, you are passionate and drive excellence across data ingestion, preparation and quality. The successful candidate will set the direction of data architecture implementation within our R&D division, helping us get the most from our data in effective ways. To do so, you will collaborate with industry specialists, product managers, and members of engineering staff to design and implement data pipelines and models that enable delivery of high quality, impactful product deliverables.

Day to Day

    • Design, build and own a cloud based data platform capable of handling multi PB-scale
    • Architect data platforms that can serve both customer use cases and/or internal stakeholders
    • Collaborate with Software Engineers, Data Scientists, Third Party Vendors, and other stakeholders
    • Raise the bar within engineering by adopting industry best practices, producing best in class code, documentation, testing, and monitoring

Minimum Qualification

    • 5+ years of strong data engineering design/development experience in building large-scale distributed data platforms/products
    • Experience designing and implementing data ingestion platforms, interacting with multiple third party data sources and assembling them into actionable structures
    • Strong understanding of distributed systems as it relates to big data solutions.
    • Experience with process orchestration frameworks (Airflow, Nifi, etc)Experience with various OLTP and OLAP systems and a strong understanding of how they work together as part of an end to end solution
    • Experience with a variety of data serialization formats (Avro, Parquet, JSON, Protobuf, etc)Expertise in SQL & Python or JVM-based languages
    • Excellent written and spoken communication skills and ability to work effectively with others in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with Security related SaaS product
    • Experience in developing data architectures within greenfield efforts
    • AWS Certified in Big Data or Data Analytics is a big plus
