Who we're looking for
Toyota Motors North America’s (TMNA) Information Technology Department is looking for a Sr Data Scientist for the Marketing and Consumer portfolio within the CTO organization.
The primary responsibility of this role is to build scalable solutions to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing investments, build a feedback loop into the customer data asset based on marketing response, ROI, and attribution.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Customer Data Science, the person in this role will support the Marketing Technology and Analytics department's objective to evaluate the effectiveness of our marketing investments with use cases spanning across the marketing mix, attribution, ROI, and customer intelligence.
This position is eligible for remote work from the following states:

What you’ll be doing
- Conduct analyses on large data set to extract insights that will guide our marketing investments.
- Use machine learning and deep learning to evaluate marketing investment effectiveness (MMM & MTA, to name a few) and help achieve the greatest possible value.
- Use a flexible, analytical approach to design, develop, and evaluate predictive models and advanced algorithms that lead to optimal value extraction from the data.
- Run experimentation initiatives, design test plans, obtain cross-functional alignment, complete robust analysis, and deliver practical insights.
- Build and maintain various pipelines required for model deployment and continuous operations around models.
- Communicate/build products to deliver data-driven insights and recommendations to non-technical audiences through clear visualizations and presentations.
- Lead and manage a data science team to build, deploy and monitor data science modes.
- Collaborate with other data science teams at Toyota to use shared platforms, enterprise standards, best practices to deliver insights and innovations.
What you bring
- Intellectually curious with all things data, a very skilled communicator who focuses as much on delivering insights as you do on the underlying technical solution.
- Expert analytical skills include analyzing and modeling big data using statistics, machine learning, and deep learning. Strong SQL and Python experience desired.
- Strong understanding of digital media strategy and the ever-evolving attribution landscape; Experience with Probabilistic Multi-touch attribution and Marketing Mix Models.
- Experienced in taking vague questions and crystallizing them into impactful experiments, analyses, or models.
- Experience with leading/managing a data science team.
- You have a degree in a quantitative field, such as Computer Science/Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics; an advanced degree is desirable.
- Experience with batch and API model deployment in the cloud, best practices on model monitoring, and running operations around machine learning pipelines.
Added bonus if you have
- Experience with ML-based Recommendation Engine.
- Experience with AI Product development.
- Experience with Orchestration toolkits like Airflow and Kubeflow.
