Data Engineer

Data Engineer - Ecommerce Newcastle (Hybrid Working) Up to £60,000 Harnham are currently partnered with an innovative e-commerce company dedicated to providing exceptional online shopping experiences to their customers. Their team is driven by a passion for technology, data-driven insights, and customer personalization. They are now expanding their data team and are looking for a talented Data Engineer to join in Newcastle. As a Data Engineer you will play a pivotal role in their data transformation journey. Working within a dynamic team of three, including a BI Developer and a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers their advanced analytics and data science initiatives. The primary focus of this role for the first year will be to help build out a robust data lake in AWS to support our wider domains and drive customer personalization on the platform. Key Responsibilities:

• Data Lake Development: Collaborate with the team to design, develop, and maintain a data lake in AWS that is scalable and robust.
• Data Integration: Build data pipelines to collect, transform, and load data from various sources into the data lake.
• Advanced Analytics: Contribute to the development of an advanced analytics platform, enabling data scientists to derive valuable insights from our data.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Data Scientist and BI Developer to understand their data requirements and provide the necessary data engineering support. Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation and transformation.
• Cloud computing experience, particularly with AWS but open to other clouds
• Experience with data lakes and data warehouse technologies.
