Our interdisciplinary team uses expertise in medicine, software, Big Data, machine learning, public health and mathematics to transform records from a diverse set of sources into enriched, research grade data which allows us to generate unique insights in a variety of disease areas.
We are seeking a Data Scientist (Contractor) to help with the effort of extracting meaningful clinical insights from medical note data. We use Text Mining and Natural Language Processing.
You will be required to dedicate a minimum of 20 hours per week for this role.
Responsibilities
- Detailed data explorations
- Strong R&D component
- Rigorously derive various types of statistical metrics from data and be prepared to communicate them
- Work within the Data Science code base architecture
- Develop solutions that process large volumes of data and produce novel insights
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience coding in Python
- Experience working with large datasets using SQL
- Experience with regular expressions and Text Mining
- Eagerness to dig into the data
Nice to Have
- Experience with Spark/Pyspark
- Knowledge and interest in Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning
Education and Experience
- Degree in analytical discipline (master’s preferred)
- Experience in related work
