Data Scientist II, Lodging Analytics

In this position, you will dedicate part of your time to support the account management efforts for newly onboarded p artners as they go live on Expedia Group websites . For this strategic project, y ou w ill be responsible to analyze interactions , identify trends and recommend actions, while building a model estimating the value derived from partner interactions. You will also support the Process Solutions team , which leads high-impact transversal pro grams across the account management spectrum to improve efficiency from Acquisition to Ma rket Management .
To succe ed in th ese tasks, you will build on deep functional expertise and use your problem-solving skills to identify relevant datasets, create analytical frameworks and provide relevant recommendations for stakeholders. What You’ll Do
- Frame business challenges as analytical problem s and apply problem solving techniques to break it down into a concrete set of analytical tasks
- Extract and clean data from multiple sources and combine them into the required datasets for model building or analytics
- Apply a range of common statistical methods, determining ideal method (incrementality analysis, hypothesis testing…) for the problem considering underlying assumptions
- Develop and automate reports, iteratively build and prototype dashboards in Tableau to provide insights at scale, solving for analytical needs
- Articulate clearly and confidently decision-making rationale, methodology and recommendation to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Partner closely with your peers within the Lodging Analytics organization and beyond to ensure best practice sharing and build on each other work
Who You Are
- Bachelor's, Master's, PhD, or Equivalent Experience; Mathematics, Science, Statistics or Technical degree preferred otherwise relevant experience is applicable
- 2 + year of relevant experience in data science and/or a nalytics translating complex data findings into clear insights
- F amiliar with Python, Scala or R , with an intermediate level in Statistics
- Hands-on experience in SQL
- Excellent data visualization skills and proficiency using tools like Tableau/Power BI…
- Passion for logical problem solving and intellectual challenges, with the ability to see the bigger picture whilst not missing the details.
- Ability to manage key relationships: mobilize, influence, and lead others without having positional authority, by interacting and building rapport with teams of all levels, in a fast-moving and ever-changing environment.
