Cartell was recently acquired by CarsIreland and by working together they have become one of Ireland’s leading digital platforms for the Irish motor industry. Cartell is a premier data supplier for the automotive industry which offers products such as car history checks (CHC), and vehicle registration mark (VRM) based tools to customers in Ireland, UK, Spain, Portugal, France, Germany and Malta. Between both companies we have operations that cover the majority of the Irish Dealer and Aftermarket as well as Manufacturers, Financiers, and Insurers. CarsIreland provide an online classifieds platform for both dealerships and private sellers to showcase and sell their cars online and provide one of Ireland’s largest networks of bespoke websites. As part of the Independent News and Media group we have the backing and the reach to scale great heights and that’s our goal.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter who is comfortable with large datasets and enjoys solving analytical problems. This candidate is also highly collaborative and able to work competently across different teams and parts of the business.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES (Overview)

  • Co-ordinate with the IT Department on regular projects from start to finish where vehicle data projects require IT input. Assist project implementation and front-end testing to ensure data quality standards are being achieved.
  • Build an in-depth understanding of the services offered by Cartell, how they work, how to improve them, and how to create more value for our customers.
  • Effectively investigate and resolve any reported data issues, implementing dynamic corrections.
  • Build rapport and strong relationships with both trade and public customers. Ensuring customer satisfaction is swiftly achieved.
  • Maintain an advanced understanding of the automotive and technology sectors and apply this knowledge in data analysis and process improvement.
  • Assist in the release and gathering of quarterly vehicle statistics for press releases.
  • Establish effective methods for analysis of big data in conjunction with the IT team, to identify inefficiencies and better manage and understand process bottlenecks and inconsistencies throughout the vehicle database.
  • Project manage ongoing strategic initiatives to keep stakeholders and timelines in alignment.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge)

  • Minimum Ordinary Bachelor’s degree (Level 7 NFQ) required in any of; Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Diplomas, Certificates related to motor trade qualifications can be submitted and may be acceptable if suitable experience in a similar roll has been demonstrated previously
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a similar professional role

SKILLS

Technical & Nontechnical
  • Demonstrated interest in the Automotive sector & Technology
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, experience working directly with customers and teams is vital
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is a priority
  • Attention to detail
Other
  • Experience in automotive industry is an advantage
  • Advanced IT skills such as coding or database query capability is an advantage
  • A keen knowledge of vehicle stats and values are also advantages
  • Some sales experience could also be advantageous
  • SQL experience is an advantage
