Being part of the Logistics Algorithms Engineering / Forecasting team you will shape Zalando's fulfillment experience by optimizing Zalando's supply chain to serve customer satisfaction, company growth and cost reduction. You will be working in a team of applied scientists, providing forecasts which serve as the basis for optimizing a crucial part of the supply chain. You will contribute to delivering and operating state-of-the-art deep learning data products at scale.

Our cloud-based (AWS) tech stack includes Spark, Airflow and Python.

• Own the machine learning models and pipelines - from design, develop, deploy, operate to improve
• Leverage and improve a cloud-based (AWS) tech stack that includes Spark, Airflow and Python
• Apply best practices for software engineering and contribute continuous integration tooling, code quality standards, code reviews, test coverage, etc.
• Maintain the correct operation of the system and to improve monitoring and resilience
• Mentor and be a role model for engineering best practices, make a positive impact on our engineering culture, encouraging knowledge sharing, and driving technical discussions and innovation in our engineering community

• Have sound industry experience in designing, implementing and operating data-intensive machine learning systems
• Come with strong programming skills in Python and experience in data processing and analysis tools (PySpark, Pandas, Numpy, Jupyter Notebooks)
• Made experience with CI/CD tools, and container/orchestration tools (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker) such as SageMaker, Databricks and Airflow
• Have experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch is a plus
• Are interested in collaborating closely with applied scientists to develop and test new approaches
• Excel in written and verbal technical communication skills with an ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner
