Advanced Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning. The ET Data Science team is where these cutting-edge techniques are being applied to real business problems in order to unlock new value for the business. We build machine learning models, apply statistical tools to data, and explore whether cutting-edge techniques can solve business problems. For example, we demonstrated that it was possible to use optimisation algorithms to automatically optimise our outage plan and reduce the total cost of outages by 20%. As a result, ET has radically changed the way the plan is built and has invested in a tool to continue to automatically optimise the plan. We have plenty of business problems that need solving and plenty of new techniques that need exploring, so we need you to come help us do that! We also want more people across National Grid to have a solid grasp of what Data Science can and can’t do, and be able to use Data Science effectively, so we’re keen that you become one of those.What you'll need
You will receive a starting salary of £29,254 (or £30,318 if you hold a Masters) and a £2000 joining bonus.
