Our Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) division has undertaken a bold growth strategy and is in the early stages of pursuing this approach. Our new initiative presents an exciting opportunity for John Hancock to diversify its distribution strategy and generate new business. We are looking for a Data Analyst to lead the analysis of new and existing products, along with various media launches. This includes the aggregation, manipulation, analysis, and pulling of reports as necessary to support the day-to-day operations of the organization.

You will support our ongoing vision, actively supporting the Manager of DTC Data Analytics and various DTC product owners. You will collaborate across business partners and other teams to execute product and paid media campaigns and analyze all marketing campaigns and sales reporting. You will provide planning and execution primarily for Savings & Investing product initiatives, as well as in-depth analysis of the purchase experience from lead generation to post-sale. You will also work closely with the technology teams to ensure end-to-end tracking is in place.

What you will do:

  • Compile and deliver data oriented reporting with meaningful insights to optimize campaigns and consumer experiences
  • Analyze customer behaviors to mitigate attrition and identify areas for cross-/up-sell
  • Communicate insights and optimization recommendations to teammates, senior leadership, and business partners
  • Analyze website performance and provide analytics reporting and insights, including A/B testing
  • Collaborate with teams to build and measure the performance of unified, full-funnel, omnichannel campaigns
  • Execute testing programs, gather results, and communicate test outcomes to maximize acquisition efforts and return
  • Partner with external agencies and vendors to coordinate projects and results
  • Assist in setting budget for marketing and tests by providing projections of performance, report on the results of such testing, and provide recommended future course of action
  • Provide insights to product teams during the development of new products by analyzing current product performance
  • Work with business and systems partners to integrate multiple data sources with the goal to discover meaningful implications for the business
  • Research and vet new partner, platform, and optimization opportunities to drive campaign performance
  • Perform market research to build knowledge of external business factors and share with team
  • Share practices and ideas with other team members, business units, and global partners, thus ensuring consistency

What you bring:

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in a quantitative/technical field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics
  • Hands-on working experience in analytics, data science, or media analytics, interacting with partners to understand business requirements and managing projects
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced use of Excel, and proficient in other Microsoft Office products. Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Domo, etc.)
  • Strong marketing understanding across digital, traditional, and offline channels
  • Strong database experience (SQL, stored procedures, master data management, and data modelling)
  • Demonstrated product and media analytics aptitude through use of software tools, analysis and insights, and strategy to drive growth
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking with experience with large data sets/databases, integration, preparing data for analysis, and analyzing data to draw meaningful conclusions and strategic implications
  • You understand how to synthesize implications from analysis to formulate measurable and impactful insights
